How To Make A Horror Sound Design Noise Box

This video, via Something Physical, shows how to make a horror sound design noise box.

It’s based around a piezo contact microphone and a box, and demonstrates how basically any old junk – springs, wires, bits of metal – can be used to create interesting sound effects.

For a more polished DIY kit version of this, check out the Microphonic Sound Box.

  1. I picked up a commercial product from Perfect Circuit that I believe shares many of the same elements….try googling “electro fastest blackfly metallic swarm generator”

I believe it’s a piezo mic in a metal pedal enclosure. 4 springs, low pass filter, and a pedal stomp button,” a lot of noises but also usable Klangs, rimshots, kinda depends on the user’s approach. Not as diy cool, but ready to go through reverb delays modulators
