In this video, synthesist Midera demonstrates the main features of the new alternative firmware for the Elektron MonoMachine.
The custom firmware adds a lot of features, including Trig Conditions, per-track Loop Length, new Speed options and more.
Here’s what Midera has to say about the video:
“I’ve spent a little time trying to go through some of the big feature upgrades on the Elektron Monomachine. These include:
1) Quick Reload kit
2) CTRL-AL style editing
3) Per-track Loop Length and speed
4) Trig Conditions
5) Pattern Setup
I hope this helps anyone that’s interested in the Monomachine and the new updated firmware.”
If you’ve tried the new firmware, leave a comment and share your thoughts on it!
Does anyone know how these custom firmwares are even made, with the original firmware being closed source afaik? Are they reverse engineering the firmware and then adding on top of that? Is there any info on this anywhere?
Seems like they have to be decompiling the firmware for the most recent official release, and then forking it.
