Elektron has updated the Digitakt firmware, adding a new master compressor and more.
“The compressor is a master effect and does everything you’d expect a compressor to do, including side-chain feature. Check the manual for full details!”, they note.
Here’s what’s new in Digitakt 1.08:
- Master compressor added.
- The name of the sample loaded to a track is displayed when you press and hold
[SRC] or if you arei n GRID RECORDING mode and press a trig with a sample lock. - Screensaver mode is implemented. If there is no interaction with the Digitakt for some time, then
the screen intensity is automatically lowered. - When you add a retrig, the first up/down-arrow press now only engages the retrig on/off (and does
not change RATE) on the first press - Bug fixes

Agreed! Even a little something like “Sorry guys, we’re still working on it” wouldn’t hurt… But this new compressor is a sweet addition to this little box!
Where is OverBridge??? I have Elektron kit laying around wanting to get more cosy with my DAW! 🙁

More great and useful features. Obviously looking forwards to overbridge but glad development i still continuing to improve the Digitakt.

It’s great, sounds nice, really powerful.
I hope they’ll also release more synthesis options (more LFOs, more filters) but I’m happy they still develop stuff about it.

As a heavy digitakt user, all im missing is some zoom options in the sample editing page. The fact it doesnt exist seems very strange to me. I have never seen a modern sampler/drum sampler without it. And it does exist in the sample page! Just make it work on the sample edit page too. Please.
Yes please on the edit zoom. I imagine it’s coming at some point since it’s already there on the sample page.
I like to have long samples of drum sounds to chop from but once they’re longer than about 25 seconds, it’s very hard to get the sample start in the right place without resampling and then editing the resample before saving. The whole point is I don’t wanna save the individual samples!
