Developer Momo Müller has introduced the Roland D-05 and D-50 Editor Controller, which is available now as a VST and standalone app.

  • Parameters can be automated, and they can be stored with your Project.
  • Save your sound on your synth or as  VST Presets (..fxp) in the DAW.

  1. Well. Now we know why the D-50 didn’t have knobs; it would have been the size of a billiards table. This is pretty cool for only €6. His other editors look good, too (although I don’t think the volca series really needs one….)

  2. Momo does a whole selection of VST instruments that directly talk to their corresponding bits of hardware kit. And it’s good stuff too. Most of them look similar to the instruments they control with the addition of the odd knob or two. This D-05 Boutique controller takes it to a whole new level. Just goes to show you what a beast the original D-50 actually was hiding beneath all that menu diving. Thank you Momo for all your hard work. It is much appreciated.

    1. As an aside, I wonder what other classical synths would look like if they had to use discrete controllers for each function and no menu diving whatsoever…?

  3. It’s great to see Momo’s VST editors improving over time, with better daw integration and less bugs, but I’d be great if he went back to his old ones (for JU06/JP08/JX3P for instance) and improved them to add all the functionality found on the more recent ones.
