Synthesist, composer & synth designer Peter Grenader shared this video, capturing a live performance by re:VOLT, live at the San Fransisco Electronic Music Festival.
The performance features two pieces: Maurice Ravel’s Scarbo; and Morton Subotnick’s Sidewinder.
Scarbo comes from Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, a three-movement piano work from 1908. Sidewinder, from 1971, is a ‘tape music’ piece, created on a Buhcla modular synthesizer. Here, it’s been reimagined for live performance.
