Synthesist Robert Rich is working with one of the first Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2 synthesizers, and shared this preview of the patches that he’s created using the new monophonic + paraphonic synthesizer:
Dave Smith Instruments today introduced the Pro 2, a knobby new monophonic ‘dream synth’. Dave Smith calls it his “most powerful mono synth ever.” “As synth geeks, we asked ourselves what our dream mono synth would be,” says Smith. “Then we built it.” Here’s the official intro video for the new Pro 2 synthesizer:
Last week, Dave Smith Instruments teased a ‘big announcement’, leading to a lot of speculation about whether they were going to introduce a new synth module, a keyboard synthesizer, a firmware update or something else. Now, they’ve confirmed it’s going to be a new synthesizer.
Dave Smith Instruments released this teaser photo of what looks like a video shoot, with Smith at a keyboard. Their only comment with the photo is that “The big announcement is next week”. What do you think DSI’s ‘big announcement’ will be? And what would you like to see them announce?
