‘SkiniBrute’ Turns Arturia MiniBrute Into A Desktop Synthesizer

GMUSynth Woodworks has introduced ‘SkiniBrute‘ – a wood panel conversion kit that turns the Arturia MiniBrute keyboard into a desktop synth module. The SkiniBrute mod holds the synth’s panel at an 11.25° angle, providing clear and easy access to the controls. The case’s side panels are modeled after the original MiniBrute design, including the multidimensional slopes and bevels.

LAB:1 Synthesizer Updated With Low-Pass Filter

Artificial Noise designer Neil Burnby let us know that he’s updated the LAB:1 Synthesizer with a larger, more sturdy case and a Voltage Controlled Low Pass Filter. “The new low pass filter is an interesting one,” says Burnby. “When the resonance is cranked to max, it’s designed to drive the filter hard, causing a nice fuzzy saturation.”

OP·A – A Multitimbral FM Synthesizer Shield for Arduino

Developer Frédéric Meslin has announced a Kickstarter project to develop the OP-A, a multi-timbral FM synthesizer Arduino Shield. The Arduino is popular open-hardware microprocessor platform. A Shield is essentially a PCB that plugs into an Arduino and gives it new features. The OP·A is an FM synthesizer shield for Arduino, that Meslin says is “great… Read More OP·A – A Multitimbral FM Synthesizer Shield for Arduino

Synthrotek West Coast Noise System Sound Demo

Synthrotek shared this sound demo of their new West Coast Noise System – an all-in-one Eurorack modular system, inspired by classic ‘West Coast Synthesis’. “The amount of insanity you can create from so few modules is incredible,” according to Synthrotek.  “It’s analog drums, 8 bit crunch and noise married to a sequencer.”
