Voice of Rapture: The Alto is a solo operatic mezzo-soprano vocal library that captures the voice of Scharich, with a wide variety of playable chromatic articulations and melodic elements.

Hans Zimmer Cinematic Percussion Library For Kontakt

Spitfire_HansZimmer_PercussionSpitfire Audio has announce availability of Hans Zimmer Percussion: London Solos — the third virtual instrument installment of Hans Zimmer’s cinematic percussion production for Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player.

According to Spitfire, London Solos is an authentic recreation of the percussion techniques Zimmer has used on his soundtracks Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Inception, and The Dark Knight.

The library features percussionist Frank Ricotti playing a wide variety of instruments — including bucket, snare, crusher, paper djun, tombek, dohl, darbuca, surdu, and darbucket. Continue reading

Rumore Scares Up ‘Cinematic Impacts’

rumore-cinematic-impactsAlessandro Alcinesio has released Rumore Cinematic Impacts, a free collection of “cinematic impact” sound effects for use in film scoring and electronic music production. In Italian, rumore means “noise,” and Cinematic Impacts is the first in what will most likely become a Rumore series of sample libraries by Alcinesio, aka HAL9K.

The library contains 50 cinematic impacts with long release tails, ranging from classic sonic booms to eerie horror noises and weird sound effects. Continue reading

Samples were recorded through a 1073 pre, then a Fat Bustard II valve mixer and various other high end studio gear.

Lots of the sounds have multiple samples for velocity mapping. Most of the kicks and congas are tuned. Also included are a bunch of analog sourced layering tools which are incredibly useful for beefing up kicks, adding sizzle to snares or transient clicks to kicks…
