Apple today announced that the iPod shuffle is now available in five colors: blue, pink, green, orange and the original silver.
“iPod shuffle is the world’s most wearable digital music player,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. “Music fans can now choose iPod shuffle in one of five brilliant colors, or they can buy one of each.”
Apple today announced that more than two billion songs, 50 million television episodes and over 1.3 million feature-length films have been purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Store.
“iTunes has crossed another major milestone by selling over two billion songs—with over a billion of them sold in the last year alone—making it by far the world’s most popular music store,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “And by selling 50 million TV shows and over 1.3 million movies to date, iTunes is already the largest online video store in the world as well.”
The iTunes Store features the world’s largest catalog, with over four million songs, 250 feature films, 350 television shows and over 100,000 podcasts.
The world’s most popular music jukebox, iTunes 7 delivers stunning features such as the new album and Cover Flow views of music, TV shows and movies, enabling users to quickly find titles in their library as well as casually browse through and re-discover titles they already own. Videos purchased from the iTunes Store are downloaded in near-DVD quality at a resolution of 640 by up to 480, depending on the content’s aspect ratio. And now with Apple TV, you can wirelessly play all your favorite iTunes content from your Mac or PC, including movies, TV shows, music, photos and podcasts on your widescreen TV.

Purchase and download of content from the iTunes Store for Mac or Windows requires a valid credit card with a billing address in the country of purchase. Television shows and feature films are available in the US only, and video availability varies by country. Games are available for download in the 22 countries in which iTunes operates and play on the fifth generation iPod®. New release feature films are $14.99 (US) each and other feature-length films are $9.99 (US) each, television shows are $1.99 (US) per episode, music videos and short films are $1.99 (US) each and games are $4.99 (US) each.

Macworld update: Apple today introduced iPhone, a new device that combines a state-of-the-art mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and an Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, searching and maps—into one small and lightweight handheld device.
“iPhone is a revolutionary and magical product that is literally five years ahead of any other mobile phone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We are all born with the ultimate pointing device—our fingers—and iPhone uses them to create the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse.”
The iPhone features WiFi support and integration with iTunes, which could make it the ultimate device for enjoying audio and video podcasts.
Two New iPod Games Announced
Electronic Arts today announced the availability of two new games for the fifth generation iPod – EA Sudoku and Royal Solitaire. iPod owners can download the two popular games through the iTunes store and can be sent as a gift using the iTunes gifting feature.
EA Sudoku and Royal Solitaire join EA’s three other games which are already available for the fifth generation iPod – Tetris, EA Mini Golf, and EA Mahjong – which were made available on iTunes last September. With the launch of these two new brain-busting games, EA is the most prolific publisher of games for the fifth generation iPod.
“Through iTunes, the world’s largest catalog for digital entertainment, EA now has a compelling and convenient way to put our mobile games into the hands of millions of iPod users throughout the world,” said Mitch Lasky, senior vice president, EA Mobile.
EA’s games for iPod are available for fifth generation iPods and can be purchased on the iTunes store. All games retail for $4.99.
